Black Pepper School Lunches

Key Stage 1 Meals

Since September 2014 all pupils in Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free school meal, all you need to do is order them on the Black Pepper website. The children often eat a wider variety of food at school than they do at home due to eating the same food as their peers and it is a great way of ensuring your child has a hot meal mid-day during the winter months.

Free School Meals

During these difficult economic conditions, some family circumstances may have changed.   Consequently, some families may now be in a position where their children are eligible for free school meals.  To qualify for free school meals, you must be in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:-

  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance – income based
  • Employment and Support Allowance – income related
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190)

If you think this could be the case, or are unsure, full details of the scheme can be found on the local authority website.
